This is a card my grad student Mai carries in her wallet. She received the card after taking a test that all Japanese freshmen are invited to take, in which they put an alcohol-soaked band-aid onto your arm and see if you have an allergic reaction. If your skin turns red, it means your tolerance is low, and you get this card that says basically you’re “weak at alcohol.”
In other words, Mai is a card-carrying Asian.
If only I could just tape this card to my face, instead of getting all rosy-cheeked in front of my boss. Haro! I can only drink an inch of beer!
