5 Profiles of the Day, 7/23
So, I came to work a little later than usual today, and encountered a different type of folk on the subway.
1) Woman with a face molded from clay. Her face was flat and broad, with a chin that poked out and looked most fitting in a smile. When she spoke, it was in German.
2) Black shiny leather shoes with snakeskin texture to my right, worn with pinstripe pants and above that a blue button down short-sleeved. He was reading The Economist.
3) Rolling waves of brown hair, the kind that looks aerated, the kind that’s like a window because you can see through parts of it. She had a fairly average outfit in black; her casual low-slung shoulder bag hung from her crossed knee.
4) Pink shirt, t-strap sandles, iced Green Mountain coffee in a plastic cup.
5) Baby. Oh how I hate to say it. The baby stared at me without any motivation. There were no emotions leading the baby to display any sort of self-consciousness in its stare. It just looked at me, and in return, I displayed my age by glancing at it, then looking down.
