The final part of this four-piece thought on security and the way the Internet will change how we think about it. It was a segment on NPR’s ‘All Things Considered’ about some students from MIT who figured out how to cheat the Charlie Card - that is, the stored value card for the T, Boston’s subway system. They managed to add $600 to one of them! Invited to present at DefCon, they were forced to stay behind — the Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority has sued them. However, Wired.com’s Kim Zetter argues that the court is misusing the anti-hacking law.
