When listening to this song, particularly when I hear it in Darwin’s Ltd., I am unsure whether to laugh or to dance.
Why does it seem like so many songs inspire that reaction nowadays? Single Ladies? Womanizer? Fuck It? I mean, why are pop songs so damn FUNNY? Because they’re so reductive that they seem really freaking honest? I mean, who hasn’t thought to themself: “So slide a little bit closer to me, little girl/Daddy’s on a mission to please”?
I mean, I know I have. Or what about this: “You can’t stop, baby/You can’t stop once you’ve turned me on/And your enemy are your thoughts, baby/So just let ‘em go.” Yeah! Forget them thoughts! They have no place in da club!
