If there’s one thing to be said about MIT, it’s that their kids know how to have a silly dilly good time. I’ve been to the last four or five Dance Troupe shows (their version of Expressions for Harvard) and while I always have lots of fun, last Thursday I reveled in what was hands down the best DT show I’ve been to. Sure, there was great dancing, but beyond that, the dances were super entertaining. I especially liked Imobilaire’s rendition of Mulan, interpreted by breakdancing to a remix of the soundtrack by one of their dancers (yes, really!). The vid is posted above. Another winner was this dance, choreographed by an MIT grad and BU grad.

A special shoutout goes to Steph Shim, the girl in the middle of the popping portion to Justice, who goes straight from badass isolations to shaking her hair to “Freak Show.” She’s grown so much in the last few years as a dancer, and is a good example of how practice will really help you improve if you want to dance.

And finally, here’s a video of the dance my sister was in — she’s the one in the red vest, looking good. I lom her. Is she human?? Or is she … danser??
