Ciarelli went to see “We Live in Public” today, a documentary about the lifecasting experiment performed by the Warhol-esque Internet “genius” named Josh Harris. After the film there was a question & answer session with the subject himself. Questions were asked; answers were given. But then, the typical unfortunate scenario unfolded: an audience member asked the type of question that is actually a rant. “Don’t you feel terrible about yourself?” he said. “YOU are a MEGALOMANIAC!” he raged. “You can NEVER give back the time I wasted on you!” But yelling wasn’t sufficient. He couldn’t contain himself. He rushed the stage, knocking Josh Harris clear out of his chair, launching chaos in the room.
After the madness had subsided like so much foam, Ciarelli & friends left the theatre. As they walked out, they happened upon Harris, chatting with his attacker. His manner was calm—friendly, even.
Which left them with one question: was the whole attack a sham?
Our sources seem to think so.
For more on Harris, see Boing Boing’s summary.
And if you would like to hold our own viewing of this film (simulation of post-film “attack scene” included), please let me know.
